We strongly feel that Nam June Paik's genious artistic creativity
should not be contained in last century's typological white
museum box.
The museum as an institution still has to exist to exhibit and
contain artist's artworks from the boundary beyond,
yet we consider the museum to be within the artwork of artist.
By this we meant artwork becomes the predominant forces to determine
the spatial quality of exhibition area,avoiding the artwork
to be molded into the given monolithic plain architectural volume.
Since Nam June Paik's artworks set no limitation to the involvement
of interior and exterior,our primary design approach was to
set transparency between interior space and exterior space to
remove the invisible barrier,
which the 20th century typology of the museum had implied as
a contained exhibition volume.
